Avella carpenter DJ Thompson dies unexpectedly at 41
Daniel Jordan "DJ" Thompson II, 41, a beloved carpenter and small‑business owner from Avella, passed away suddenly on July 9, 2025. Raised in Washington, PA, he ran Thompson & Sons and loved hunting, fishing, and ATV riding. He is survived by his companion, three children, sisters, brothers and a host of relatives. A memorial service was held on July 19, drawing family, friends and community members. Donations are being directed to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
